Heres a few words on 2001 / 2002

UPDATE 21st May 2002

Well, well, where to start. How about 5th November 2001. I have had such a shitty six months I don't really find it possible to put all of the words down here to describe it. I was living with David. Sharing my life, desperately attempting to make a relationship work that was floundering on the rocks and being battered by the storms caused by a whole stack of problems that had been eroding the foundations for nearly 2 years. In the end, with no other option I ended it. Asked him to leave, and attempted to piece back together my life. As always with these things I lost weight, made myself ill, and then slowly recovered. An attempt was made to patch up the differences in our relationship, and we got back together just a few days before Christmas. I hoped so much that things would work. I worried that the problems would be too big, and got ill again. Three weeks of work with a stomach bug that took another stone or so off me and then I went back to work, with the problems still not sorted out. I booked a holiday, something to look forward to, something to aim for, but things just did not improve. In the end, all the broken promises got too much, and I decided (again) that "enough" (as the song goes ...) "...was enough" and ended it again. I was pressured for weeks to tell him if I was "going on his holiday with him", but decided for a number of detailed reasons and memories of the previous holiday I had been on with him to the same place, that it would not be good for me if we went together, so I cancelled the holiday, both of us loosing our deposits.

I needed something to look forward too, and I still had time off work booked, so one day, several weeks later I decided that I did want to go away, so rebooked. I hardly told a living sole that I was going, as I just wanted to get away and have a nice time.

The Holiday fun started on the Saturday, with a trip to the Manchester Evening News Arena to see the Kylie Fever Tour. I had paid for two tickets to go see the concert, and had to work out who to take with me. David assumed that despite all of the broken promises and lack of effort on his part that I would take him and it was this blasé attitude that convinced me that it was the correct thing to not take him, so I took a friend of mine with me instead.

I had bought tickets to go and see kylie in Manchester on the Saturday before my holiday, and with the nice new tan that I had I finished work on Friday 10th May, and began my holiday in style.

Kylie was totally fantastic ...

Off to Poptastic in Manchester's gay village afterwards, and then home to finish packing on the Sunday!  Totally in holiday mood, i prepared for my trip to Gran Canaria ... a holiday that was to be the best one I have had in years and years, where I met some of the nicest people I have ever met...

Update 10th August 2002

Life continues, work continues.

I'm over the worst of things now following the ending of my relationship, the family are well, friends are great. I've had some tattoos - something I have wanted to do for a long time now, and I'm well.

Update 21st September 2002

Well now then, I didn't think it was possible to beat the holiday that I had in May this year, but the 9th September was not only the 8th Anniversary of buying my house, it was also the start of my second holiday to Club Tucanes in GranCanaria this year!
